and Drawing Lessons and Classes Offered by Lacey Lewis
in the Greater Kansas City Area
Lacey Lewis offers private drawing and painting lessons out of her downtown KCK studio and in Kansas City, MO, Kansas City, KS, Johnson County, KS, and the surrounding areas. Curriculum
is tailored to fit the interests, ability, and commitment level of the
student(s). Lacey uses many traditional and modern methods of teaching
to help students learn how to see, anylize what they see, and then draw
and paint according to their vision. Students with work from both 2D
and 3D references as appropriate, including still lives, models, master
drawings, Bargue plates, and photographs. Generally, it is preferred
to begin with a strong foundation in drawing before moving onto painting
or other media incorporating color.
Lacey has experience teaching students of various ages and ability levels, from children through adults, beginners through advanced artists. However, she does not recommend focused art instruction for children under the age of 6.
Private lessons are conducted at Lacey's studio at 738 Armstrong, Suite 200 in KCK, or can be arranged in your home for a small fee. Private instruction for up to 3 students is available for $30 per hour; for 4 or more students the fee becomes $10 per student per hour. Drawing students usually meet 1hr per week, with advanced drawing and painting students often requiring a 2hr meeting each week. A few more students prefer to meet only twice per month; the duration and frequency of meeting is adjustable according to the student's commitment and interest level. Lacey is also available to teach workshops and classes.
