Lacey Lewis offers private drawing and painting lessons in Kansas City, MO, Kansas City, KS, Johnson County, KS, and the surrounding areas. Curriculum
is tailored to fit the interests, ability, and commitment
level of the student(s). Lacey uses many traditional and modern methods
of teaching to help students learn how to see, anylize what they see,
and then draw and paint according to their vision. Students with work
from both 2D and 3D references as appropriate, including still lives,
models, master drawings, Bargue plates, and photographs.
Lacey has experience teaching students of various ages and ability levels, from children through adults. However, she does not recommend focused art instruction for children under the age of 6.
Private lessons can be conducted in the student's home, or at another appropriate venue as agreed upon. Private instruction for up to 3 students is available for $30 per hour; for 4 or more students the fee becomes $10 per student per hour. Casual students generally prefer two 1-hour lessons per month, though the duration and frequency of meeting is adjustable according to the student's commitment and interest level. Lacey also currently offers private instruction and classes at the Carnegie Arts Center in Leavenworth, KS. She is also available to teach workshops and classes.
